A 33-Year-Old Man With 19-Year History of Nephrotic Syndrome Improved Remarkably With Homeopathy
Case Summary: A 33-year-old male, N.B.P. (PIN: 30552), visited Life Force on 7th December 2016 for the treatment of Nephrotic Syndrome, which he had been suffering from for 19 years. Over this long duration, he had experienced three relapses. Since 2008, the condition had been affecting him continuously, and he had been on regular steroids for a year before visiting Life Force. During episodes, he suffered from proteinuria, swelling around the eyes and legs, polyuria, irritability, and cough. At presentation, he was asymptomatic. Personal & Medical Profile: Tall, non-vegetarian. Excessive appetite with craving for spicy food; aversion to cauliflower. Very low thirst; bowel movements, sweat, and sleep were normal. Past history: Childhood asthma. Family history: Grandmother – Hypertension; Sister – Underactive thyroid. After reviewing his detailed case, Dr. Shah prescribed research-based homeopathic medicines. Follow-Ups: 21st January 2017: No major changes were noted. 19th April 2017: Significant improvement reported. Steroid dose reduced to alternate days. 28th June 2017: Relapse occurred with traces of protein in urine. Steroid dose was increased. Medicines were revised accordingly. 18th October 2017: No relapse over the last 2–3 months. Steroid dosage reduced again. Case History
A 33-years-old N.B.P. (Pin no - 30552) visited the clinic on 7th December 2016 for the treatment of his Nephrotic syndrome complaints. He was suffering from Nephrotic syndrome since the last 19 years. In the duration of 19 years, his complaint had relapsed thrice. However, this Nephrotic syndrome complaints were concerning him continuously since 2008, and he was taking steroid continuously since 1 year. At the time of his visit, he was asymptomatic. But, when he used to suffer an episode, he used to suffer from proteinuria, swelling mainly on his eyes & legs, polyuria, irritability, & cough.
He was tall. He was non-vegetarian by diet. His appetite was excessive, and he had craving for spicy foods. He didn’t like cauliflower. His thirst was very less. His bowel movements, sleep, and sweat were normal.
He was an engineer & working in A.V. Equipment company. His spouse was also working in a software company. He was reserved in nature. He used to find it difficult to mix-up with everyone. He was possessive about his close ones. He liked to travel to peaceful places, such as beaches, & listen to soft music. He never worried about his disease & future. He was short-tempered.
In his family, his grandmother had hypertension. His sister had the underactive thyroid. Apart from this, there was no other specific disease in his family. He had child asthma in the past.
After studying his case in detail, he was prescribed researched based molecule by Dr. Shah.
First followup
On 21st January 2017, he gave his follow-up. There was no change in his condition.
Second followup
On 19th April 2017, the patient gave his next follow-up. His condition had improved significantly. He was on a reduced dosage of steroids (i.e. on alternate days).
Third followup
On his 28th June 2017 follow-up, he informed that his condition had relapsed. Protein was traced in urine. A few other symptoms also had appeared again. His steroid dosage was increased. So, Dr. Shah did the required changes in his medicine.
Fourth followup
On 18th October 2017, he informed that no episode was relapsed since two to three months. His steroid dosage was reduced again. He no more suffered from colds. There was a significant improvement in his overall health after commencing homeopathic treatment. His both mental and physical conditions had improved a lot.
He is still continuing the medicine from Life Fore for further positive results.
